Limond Toussaint, the Minister of Culture welcomes the triumph of the young actress-director Gessica Généus, who received, on Sunday, the Best Creative Documentary Award for "Douvan jou ka leve", medium-length category as part of the Documentary Film Festival of Saint-Louis in Senegal.

Thanks to this award, our compatriot put Haiti under the spotlights like Dany Laferrière, Jean Jean Roosvelt and Yanick Lahens, to name just a few. "It's not a coincidence, since Gessica Généus is an authentic daughter of a land inhabited by gods of art and literature," said Minister Limond Toussaint, who recalls that "Douvan jou ka leve" is a documentary that touches on the particularly worrying theme of the slavery, which resurfaces today in the news...
