"215 years ago the Haitian flag was born to unite a nation in its aspirations, struggles and victories. The commitment of May 18, 1803 to merge efforts in the pursuit of high collective goals led to the Proclamation, January 1, 1804, of the Independence of the Republic of Haiti, our common homeland. The union was our strength and in the name of this force we also helped to build other freedoms and other equal rights. Our flag has always identified us in a world converging on peace, the promotion of the universal human rights, a decolonized world. On the occasion of the 215th anniversary of the Flag, the Consulate of Haiti in Orlando invites the Haitians of Central Florida to always take inspiration from this sublime act of solidarity of May 18, 1803 that generated the Haitian nation, to contribute with their positive energies, know-how, resources and potential to build a stronger Community and a united and prosperous Haitian nation.
