iciHaiti - Les Cayes : 5th edition of the Krik-Krak Festival
Akoustik Prod invites you to the city of Les Cayes from the 1st to the 3rd of June 2018 for the 5th edition of the Krik-Krak Festival. On the program: storytelling evening, workshops for children, documentary screenings on tales in Haiti, round table with cultural operators, morning games on the place d'armes, rara contest, "Banm Konte" parade, concerts with the traditional groups of Cayes Tirailleurs, Avenir and Chango Ginen as well as James Germain and our national diva Emeline Michel...

Krik-Krak invites us to reflect on the preservation of Haitian culture and values by focusing, in a fun and original way, on orality, popular traditions and the major elements of our cultural heritage.

For Allenby Augustin, the General Secretary of Akoustik Prod, the Krik-Krak Festival is a double challenge: to decentralize large-scale activities in a provincial city and to participate in the preservation of the intangible cultural heritage of Haiti and cultural and popular traditions.

This year, Akoustik Prod will pay a well-deserved tribute to Emeline Michel and Dennery Ménélas for their roles in promoting cultural heritage and Haitian traditions.

All activities are free.

FOKAL and the Embassy of Switzerland in Haiti are associated with the Krik-Krak Festival as co-funding partners.
