The construction works of the Germplasm Center of Grand'Anse, started in October 2017 in the commune of Marfranc (Department of Grand'Anse) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-22274-haiti-agriculture-third-plant-propagation-center.html are very advanced. It is the 3rd Center under construction on 6 in the country. Internationally funded, it will have the same capacity as the other centers to produce 4.5 million seedlings per year (fruit and forest trees).

It includes several shade houses, an administrative building, a sprouter, a composting and fertilizer preparation center and a warehouse for tools and intrans. It also has a research unit, a residence for executives and trainees, sanitary blocks, a plant for transplanting and planting cuttings and a seed production center.

Created by presidential decree of July 22, 2015, the commune of Mafranc is limited to the North by the 5th communal section Fond-Rouge Dahère of the commune of Jérémie, to the South by the 3rd communal section Haute-Guinaudée of the commune of Jérémie and the 2nd Communal section Sources-Chaudes of the commune of Moron, to the West by the 1st communal section Désormeaux of the commune of Bonbon and the 1st communal section Anote of the commune of Moron, and to the East by the second communal section Haute-Voldrogue and the 4th Basse-Guinaudée communal section of the commune of Jérémie.
