Sunday as part of the celebration of Saint-Jean Baptiste, patron saint of Trou-du-Nord, about forty men and twenty women participated in a marathon organized by the Presidency to encourage young people to play sports in the Northeast Department.

This marathon, which started in front of the National Port Authority (APN) in Cap-Haïtien and ended at the Square of Trou-du-Nord, allowed the 3 riders who came first to receive each a check of 100,000, 50,000 and 25,000 gourdes respectively.

In the women's category, the rider started from "Kafou Lanmò" and who came first in the place of Trou-du-Nord, received 50,000 Gourdes, even if she was not the first in the marathon ranking.
