A delegation of the Executive Board of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is on visit Haiti until 29 June 2018.

The delegation is led by the president of the Executive Board UNDP/UNFPA/UNOPS and permanent representative of the Republic of Mauritius to the United Nations, H. E. Jagdesh Koonjul. The objective of this mission is to reinforce the dialogue and the partnership with Haitian authorities under the umbrella of the United Nations system support to national development priorities through the United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) 2017-2021.

The delegation also assess the impact of the UN strategies and programs -with a particular focus on the interventions of UNDP, UNFPA and UNOPS- on the living conditions of the Haitian population and the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The mission will also pay special attention to the preparations for the transition post-MINUJUSTH and the support provided to Haiti’ s efforts to create the necessary conditions for sustainable economic and social development.

During the visit, the delegation will meet different members of the Government, the United Nations Country Team (composed of 19 agencies, funds and programmes) and the MINUJUSTH, as well Haiti’s development partners, civil society organizations and NGOs. In addition, the programme of the delegation includes field visits to several projects implemented by the three agencies and meetings with local authorities and beneficiaries of these interventions.
