Last Thursday, Vanessa Lamothe Matignon was the first woman elected as President of the Group of Francophone Ambassadors of France (GAF France).

"Thank you to my colleagues for their trust. Thank you to HE Bassirou Sene (Ambassador of Senegal), outgoing President. Congratulations to Vice Presidents Fabienne Reuter and Luca Niculescu and Treasurer Claude Cottalorda," said Vanessa Lamothe Matignon, adding" A big thank you to Bassirou Sene, an excellent President for the past two years. And thank you to the Senate for the welcome of today."

For his part the former Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe declared "Congratulations to Vanesa Lamothe Matigon (his cousin) for this distinction."

"Vanessa Lamothe Matignon, Ambassador of Haiti is the first woman elected President of the Group of Francophone Ambassadors of France. Bravo ! She succeeds Ambassador Bassirou Sene from Senegal, whom I also salute," said Michaëlle Jean, Secretary General of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF).
