The researchers at Cornell University in New York, have just co-published with the European Institute of Business Administration (INSEAD) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) the index "Global Innovation Index 2018" (GII 2018), which ranks 126 countries, representing 90.8% of the world's population and 96.3% of world GDP, according to their innovation capabilities and results on the ground. The Global Innovation Index 2018 (GII 2018) provides detailed information on the innovation performance of 126 countries and economies around the world. With 80 indicators that explore innovation, including the policy environment, education, infrastructure, and the business community, GII aims to provide tools that can help adapt policies to promote long-term growth in production, improved productivity and employment growth The GII 20188 analyzes the energy innovation landscape of the next decade and identifies possible breakthroughs in areas such as energy production, storage and distribution, among others. It also looks at the breakthrough of innovation. at the local level and describes the growth of small-scale renewable energy systems.
