Friday, at the Multipurpose Training Center of Croix-des-Bouquets, Régine Lamur, the resigning Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action, accompanied of Director General Mario Florvil, his Head of Cabinet and Directors and Ministry officials, unveiled, the various activities that will be organized for young people in particular and the general population during the summer holidays 2018 around the slogan "Vakans mwen se pam".

For nearly two months, the Youth, Sport and Civic Action sub-sectors of the Ministry will be mobilized to promote sport, healthy entertainment and the culture of patriotic sense.

The Ministry has already started its activities in sport with the distribution of 8,000 balloons at the level of the communes of the country through the departmental directorates to facilitate the sport pratice, especially football.

The sports activities will continue with the organization of the Presidency Cup, together with the sports federations concerned, which will allow 368 football players representing the 16 administrative regions of Haiti, 100 cyclists and 200 track and field athletes to measure in competitions. The Ministry provide support for neighborhoods championships in the metropolitan area, through sports centers and in several provincial towns.

The Youth sub-sector will benefit from the provision of entrepreneurship training, financing of youth enterprise projects and the granting of grants to young women in high vulnerability who want to create an income-generating activity.

In addition, summer camps will be organized in sports centers in the metropolitan area where thousands of young people will be accompanied from Monday to Friday and will receive two hot meals a day with the support of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor. The ministry will also host youth who will participate in sports, social and cultural activities as well as civic awareness workshops in the Southeast, West, Central and Northwestern departments as part of the program "Youth Weekend"

In addition to the sensitization campaign of the Civic Action Directorate, civic service conscripts will be trained in the Center department. This initiative aims to increase the number of Civic Action brigadiers on the national territory and young people engaged in the promotion of civic and patriotic values.
