iciHaiti - Cooperation : Haiti and Rwanda explore new areas of cooperation

Haiti and Rwanda (East Africa), which have long diplomatic relations through the Rwandan Embassy in Canada, which also covers Haiti, are striving to expand and explore new areas of cooperation.

The Ambassador of Rwanda Valentine Rugwabiza, Permanent Representative to the United Nations and her Haitian counterpart, Ambassador Denis Régis in a joint statement recalled that the Haiti-Rwanda Commission was created in 2010 to facilitate bilateral relations and that the two countries had had important exchanges in the past and that they intended to explore new areas of cooperation.

Let's recall, among other things, that in 2011, Haitian students continued their undergraduate studies at the National University of Rwanda thanks to the full scholarships provided by the Rwandan Government within the framework of this Commission" https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-2042-haiti-education-278-haitian-students-in-the-african-universities.html ; the police blue helmets of Rwanda in Haiti, as part of the Munustah https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-4596-haiti-security-160-new-rwandan-police-officers-in-haiti.html were appreciated in Haiti for their exemplary service over the years and in November 2017 Rwanda decided that Haitians would no longer need VISA to stay on Rwandan soil for a period of 90 days in the same way as members of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-22774-haiti-politic-rwanda-90-days-without-visa-for-haitians.html
