The cleaning and containment of the "Rivière Blanche", located in the locality "Lamabèl" in Ganthier (West Dept.), launched last April https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-24244-icihaiti-security-launch-of-important-works-on-the-river-blanche.html and realized by the Corps of Military Engineers of the Army of Haiti are very advanced.

This work should allow the population of Lamabèl, locality "Ti maché" to be spared by the floods during heavy rains.

According to the residents who live along the River Blanche these works are of great importance because before, during the heavy rains they had to flee their home and evacuate their livestock to limit the damage.

Note that cleaning and containment work is being carried out on the national territory in more than 60 rivers deemed dangerous in order to protect the populations of the affected areas from floods.
