iciHaiti - Culture : Festival Gédé FEST 2018
The Festival of History, Arts, Culture and Gastronomy "Gédé FEST" to be held from 25 October to 3 November 2018 in Port-au-Prince and Jacmel, aims to safeguard Haitian traditions and culture. "Without the ceremony of the Bois Caiman, without the voodoo, without the general revolt of the slaves in Santo Domingo in 1791 we would not be today this free people, proud of their past, animated by a joy of living even among the daily difficulties that the country faces, "said Richard Morse, Festival producer and founder of the group Mizik Ayisyen RAM whose title of his latest album, "August 1791" refers directly to these historical events.

This Festival is part of the concept "Sisters Twin Reunited" which is a platform for cultural exchange between Haiti and New Orleans.

In addition, remember that in this context, since August 16, began "Thursdays pre Gédé FEST" at the Oloffson Hotel, which host weekly groups and artists invited to familiarize them with the public.
