School Canteen : Signing of an agreement with the French Embassy

On Tuesday, September 15, 2026, as part of efforts to strengthen cooperation between Haiti and France in the areas of education and social protection, the National School Canteen Program (PNCS) announced the signing of an in-kind agreement with the French Embassy in Haiti—through the Cooperation and Cultural Action Service (SCAC)—for the 2026-2027 academic year.

This agreement focuses primarily on the exclusive sourcing of local agricultural products. It aims to directly support the National School Feeding Policy and Strategy (PSNAS).

• Supply of local foodstuffs : The aid provided by France does not take the form of imports but involves the purchase and distribution of produce grown by Haitian farmers;

• Promotion of national production : This model stimulates the rural economy and helps structure local agricultural supply chains by guaranteeing a stable market for the country’s producers;

• Targeted beneficiaries: This in-kind contribution enables the daily distribution of hot, nutritious meals to over 40,000 Haitian students across schools within the PNCS network.

Through this initiative, the PNCS reaffirms its commitment to working with the Haitian State’s technical and financial partners to sustainably strengthen school feeding mechanisms and improve learning conditions for schoolchildren. The PNCS takes this opportunity to commend the commitment of the French Embassy and the Cooperation and Cultural Action Service (SCAC) and welcomes the continuation of this partnership for the benefit of Haitian children.
