iciHaiti - Virgin Island : A Haitian sentenced to 3 years in prison... 27/08/2018 10:38:38
On Aug. 23, Gretchen CF Shappert Attorney of St. Thomas (US Virgin Islands gateway to the Caribbean) announced that Judge Curtis V. Gomez of the United States District Court sentenced Ramon Clavel (Haitian) to 36 months imprisonment and Tommy Ramirez (Dominican) to 38 months and each to 4 years of supervised release upon release from prison to more than 200 hours of community service. Recall that Clavel and Ramirez pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute a kilogram of cocaine. According to the guilty plea filed with the Court, Ramirez had asked Clavel to go to the Emancipation Gardens post office to claim a package containing more than one kilogram of cocaine. The two men were arrested following an investigation by the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the US Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) and the US Department of Homeland Security Investigations.
