iciHaiti - DR : Haitian nurses on internship at Moscoso Puello Hospital

10 Haitian nurses from Haiti's Help School Of Nursing (Jeanne Star Ilas, Gilda Jean Baptiste, Danilka Lines, Tabitha Police, Edline Sejour, Anne Gersica Souverain, Cynthia Watermann, Myriline Morisset, Lynce Marie Nicole and Louis Sephonie) completed a 3-day internship at the Dr. Francisco Moscoso Puello hospital (Santo Domingo), new knowledge about the Dominican health system

Dr. Francisco Moscoso Puello Hospital completely renovated last April at the cost of 600 million pesos (± 12.2 million dollars), with a capacity of 196 beds is equipped with the latest technology and is one of the most modern Health Center of the country. The nurses were followed by Martha Cordero, Head of the Nursing Sub-Directorate, and Claudia Adón, the Department's Director of Education, who judged this type of exchange with Haitian professionals very positive.

Haitian nurses appreciated the work methodology of the hospital staff and the processes developed for those who come to the Center in search of care "Here, there is more equipment and personnel than in the hospitals of my country, it's great that the health staff is assisting so many people and providing the right kind of service," said Haitian nurse Lynce Marie Nicole.

The Haitian women made rotations in various services to acquire new knowledge including: emergency rooms (including pediatric emergency), radiology (4 rooms), internment of patients, operating theaters, treatment units. intensive care, dialysis service (15 posts) and laboratory

The trainees, delighted with their experiences and new knowledge, said that they would apply to their return to Haiti, what they had learned at the Dominican hospital.
