In this period of school year, the Embassy of France in Haiti pays tribute to Mrs Rossillon, who died last July in Paris, who created in 1976 the Center "Alcibiade Pommayrac" in Jacmel, with the ambition of a quality education accessible to everyone.

The Embassy recalls "last July 23, in Paris, Mrs. Véronique Rossillon died out. A faithful friend of Haiti and Haitians, she created in 1976 the Center Alcibiade Pommayrac in Jacmel and contributed to its operation with generosity and efficiency. Promoting the ambition of quality education accessible to the poorest and most eager to learn, this center has allowed many Haitians to make brilliant studies, sometimes continue in prestigious foreign institutions and return to serve their country."

Le Centre Alcibiade Pommayrac organise cette année sa première rentrée scolaire sans la présence, même lointaine, of Mrs Rossillon.

"The Embassy expresses its saddened sympathy to Mrs. Rossillon's family and loved ones, and joins with the sorrow work of the staff and the students, recent and old, whom she has watched over the years. She wishes that the breath of this human adventure will continue to bring generations of Haitians to the knowledge and freedom it provides."
