Following the threat made by representatives of Haitian Merchants' Associations to prevent the entry of certain Dominican products into Haiti, the authorities of the Specialized Corps for Land Border Security (CESFRONT) met in an emergency meeting with representatives of the Merchants Associations of the Dajabón Border Market and the diplomatic authorities of Haiti, to seek a solution to the problem and avoid situations of confrontation between the populations of the two countries with always unpredictable consequences.

According to a document circulated by Haitian Merchants Associations, the blocking of products will be executed from next Monday (September 17) in retaliation for the alleged decisions of Dominican Associations that prevent Haitians from buying certain goods and bring them back to Haiti

Among the products that will be blocked Monday by these associations, if the situation does not find a solution by then, we can mention among other vegetables : chilli, tomatoes, cabbage, lettuce and beets...
