iciHaiti - USAID : Closure of the RAPID project for blind and visually impaired children

Last week, Christian Barratt, Deputy Mission Director of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID Haiti) participated at the closing of the RAPID (Reading for All Promoting Inclusive Education) Project. USAID is proud to have supported Société Haitienne d’Aide aux Aveugles (SHAA) in its efforts to provide educational services to visually impaired and/or Blind students.
The reading activity aimed to increase access to quality education for children who are blind and visually impaired in Port-au-Prince and Cap Haïtien. Thanks to USAID RAPID project, Fabienca Fabien and Fréderic Gregoire, two beneficiaries, have completed high school and passed the State exams. They are examples of how youth living with a disability can strive for excellence in life.
