As part of its communal development plan, the Municipal Council of Croix-des-Bouquets, headed by Mayor Rony Colin, built the 2.45 kilometers Canaan main road in reinforced concrete, thanks to the financial support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through the American Red Cross and implemented by Global Communities, the United Nations Migration Agency (IOM-Haiti), Housing and Building Construction Unit Publics (UCLBP) and the Ministry of Public Works

This road will promote the development of this area. Linking National Roads 1 and 3, Canaan's main highway will prevent congestion on these highways.

Mayor Colin, aware of the harsh realities of the residents, is working to provide this area with basic infrastructure and meet the basic needs of this population that was abandoned to itself by the previous authorities.

Since his entry to the head of the Commune, Mayor Colin, thanks to his openness and open collaboration with partner institutions, has already initiated several major projects in favor of the people of Cannan.
