The "Haiti-BENELUX Chamber of Commerce and Industry" (CCI Haïti-Bénélux) organized a conference with the Directorate of Penitentiary Administration (DAP) with the support of the correctional unit of Minujusth, entitled "Synergies between prison and the private sector".

The CCI Haiti-Benelux explain that in order to stimulate communication and cooperation with the Directorate of Penitentiary Administration, and show that prison and prisoners can be a value for society and private sector itself and be part of the development of Haiti. Prisons can be used as production facility, Prisons and prisoners can help in agriculture development and environment protection, improve vocational training to secure a better social integration.

The CCI Haiti-Benelux work towards the formation of a committee that can be established between private sector organizations, DAP and other organizations in order to develop programs that can and will be a value for the private sector and improve conditions in general of prisons and be part of the development of Haiti and stimulate an effective social reintegration.
