iciHaiti - Literature : 1st Edition of the Jacmel Book Fair
On October 31st, November 1st and 2nd, under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture, Jacmel will host the First Edition of the International Book Fair (SILJ), an initiative of Pulùcia editions.

Several publishers will erect their booth at the Rue du Commerce to serve lovers of books and of the reading. Other activities such as reading workshops, lecture-debates, talks with some authors and theatrical performances, among others, will be organized as part of this cultural event. More than twenty Haitian and foreign writers will attend this show according to Pierre Paul Ansion, the CEO of Pulùcia editions.

The participation of the Ministry in this activity is in line with the new dynamics of the government team "Due to its mission and attributions, the Ministry is in the process of identifying organized sectors of the sector across the country in order to provide answers to operators, especially those involved in the fields of books and writing" said Jean Michel Lapin Guyler, Minister of Culture

In addition, Wilbens Thursday, Regional Coordinator of SILJ, explained that the Pulùcia editions pursue two main objectives by initiating this book fair: to facilitate the access of young people in the South-East to books and reading and to promote the book , literary and scientific production in Haiti.
