iciHaiti - Social : Assistance to vulnerable children and women in border areas
The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, the United Nations Migration Agency (IOM Haiti) and Canada held their last meeting of the Steering Committee of the project "Assistance to Children and Vulnerable Women in Border Areas in Haiti" aimed in particular at putting in place mechanisms to promote the protection of vulnerable migrants.
As a result of this project, more than 300 protection officers were trained on border management, 200 children were educated, more than 2,000 received official identification documents, 700 beneficiaries started income-generating activities and 4 Border Resource Centers have been established and are in operation.
