A delegation of about ten German deputies from different political tendencies of the German Parliament (Bundestag) led by Heike Hansel, who has already had meetings with various actors including Deputies of the Lower House, President Jovenel Moïse, Prime Minister Jean Henry Céant and the authorities of the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ) was received this week at the Ministry of Justice by the Minister Jean Roudy Aly. The exchanges, which lasted more than an hour, focused among other things on reform projects and issues related to cooperation between the two countries.

The opportunity for Minister Aly to insist on the process of modernization of the Haitian criminal law, undertaken by the Government, he took the opportunity to highlight, the preliminary draft penal code and criminal procedure that have been filed to Parliament for ratification. Aly has also focused on the fight against corruption, the formalization of the legal assistance program that will facilitate the work of low-level litigants who will be assisted free of charge by lawyers.
