The Protestant Federation of Haiti (FPH) encourages dialogue between the various sectors of the country in order to avoid a worsening of the socio-political crisis that Haiti is currently experiencing. It calls on the social, political and economic actors to "show maturity" in getting up and "going beyond themselves", while opening a space for the search for a consensual solution.

In a statement, the Religious Federation said that "a common strategy would allow the country to recover its social cohesion and stability, and especially avoid again the shame of foreign interference."

The FPH criticizes the deterioration of the socio-political situation in which the country is plunged since the failure of the rise of the price of gasoline last July, which led to the resignation of former Prime Minister Jack Guy Lafontant and which could, if it continues to "lead to the collapse of the nation-state".

The FPH believes that the current political situation "shows the extent of social and regional fragmentation of the country" emphasizing the need for a national dialogue.
