iciHaiti - NOTICE : Important tsunami simulation exercise in the Caribbean

In order to raise awareness of the Caribbean countries exposed to tsunami threats, the Caribbean Tsunami Warning Program (CTWP) in collaboration with many other institutions, including the Directorate of Civil Protection (DPC) in Haiti, informs the population that a major simulation exercise in the Caribbean called "Caribewave" will take place on March 14, 2019.
The DPC in this circumstance, will activate the National Emergency Operation Center (COUN), stating that it is a well-planned and well-coordinated exercise, which will take place on the 14th day from 8:00 am
The main objective of this exercise is to strengthen the capacity of the institution and its partners to provide an effective response should such an event occur in Haiti.
