Sunday on the National Road #6, Morne casse, a locality in the commune of Ferrier (Northeast), a motorcycle driver and his passenger, carrying fuel to resell on the black market, lost their lives burned alive, after being hit by a truck from Fort liberté.

The driver of the motorcycle Rony Marcelin and his passenger had just bought several plastic container of fuel for the black market including of Cap-Haitien. According to witnesses, under the shock there was an explosion and the cans of petrol instantly turned the motorcycle into a blaze. The motorcycle driver, father of three, died alive and his badly burned passenger, in critical condition, died shortly after arriving at the hospital.

The Board of the Communal Section, deplores the deaths of these two people, victims of the shortage of fuel caused by the lack of leadership and foresight of the State.
