Thursday evening, a black Nissan Patrol, owned by Port Salut Deputy Sinal Bertrand (Fanmi Lavalas) coming from Port-Salut, was intercepted by a group of young people on National Road #2 near Carrefour Rue Benoît (Petit-Goâve) after having crossed a barricade, according to a colleague of the local press, the Journalist Arnold Joicy. The aggressors stripped the passengers violently and seized them 215,000 gourdes before fleeing, reported Fortuné Odève one of the passengers victim of this assault, an amount that was intended to pay the travel expenses of a group of young people from Port-Salut, recipients of a scholarship to Venezuela as part of an initiative of Deputy Bertrand.
