Tessa Jacques Antoine, Director General of the Center for Investment Facilitation (CFI), invited by the Association of Industries of Haiti (ADIH), joined a delegation in Washington DC composed of Georges Sassine President of the ADIH and Lionel Dalatour Consultant of the Association to meet with personalities, influence groups and members of the American Congress to discuss the renewal of the Caribbean Basin Trade Partnership Act (CBTPA).

The delegation met with members of the Office of the President of the United States House of Representatives.

Recall that the CBTPA is a law adopted by the US government in October 2000 and renewed in 2010 that grants trade preferences to Haiti, and a duty-free entry for a large number of Haitian products in the United States market.

CBTPA exports are close to 35% of total exports, ranging from US $200-400 million.

The renewal of the Caribbean Basin Trade Partnership Act (CBTPA) is essential for the growth of the textile sector and will take place before 2020.
