iciHaiti - Social : Children have the right to a family
As part of the International Day of the Rights of the Child (20 November), the SOS Children's Villages Haiti Organization, a member association of the SOS Children's Villages International Federation, established in Haiti since 1978, calls for all the world that girls, boys and young people have rights in particular to a quality education, health, development and above all, a family.

SOS Children's Villages Haiti wants to ensure that the authorities address the root causes of the separation of children from their families, the late reintegration of children separated from their families or caregivers, with an emphasis on social norms that contribute to the separation of families, the impact of poverty, social exclusion on family life and increase support for programs that help children stay in their families and communities that help prevent discrimination and negative stereotypes about children with disabilities as well as those who experience violence, exploitation, abuse and neglect.

Advocacy is needed to improve the continuity of care for children with alternative care, the provision of various services, including education, nutritional support, support and psychosocial services, and support for youth who are about to leave the care devices.

SOS Children's Villages Haiti encourages the Haitian authorities to adopt and enforce laws to prevent trafficking, exploitation of children in institutions and establish a periodic review of the placement of children in all care devices.

SOS Children's Villages Haiti is convinced that every child in his place in a family and must grow up in a climate of affection and security.
