Champions League 2026 : U-20 Qualification, congratulations from the MJSAC

Pythagore Dumas, the Minister of Youth, Sports, and Civic Action (MJSAC), extends his warmest congratulations to the Haitian U-20 national men's team for qualifying for the quarterfinals of the CONCACAF U-20 Championship with a 2-1 victory over El Salvador (https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-48115-haiti-champions-league-2026-victory-against-el-salvador-haiti-qualifies-for-the-quarter-finals-video.html). This is a decisive step on the road to a historic qualification for the FIFA U-20 World Cup Azerbaijan/Uzbekistan 2027 and the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

This victory allows our Grenadiers to continue their journey in the competition and move closer to their main objective. The next match is scheduled for August 4, 2026, at the Estadio Cuauhtémoc in Puebla, Mexico, where the Grenadiers will face Costa Rica's "Ticos" in the quarterfinals. A victory would secure Haiti's qualification for the next U20 Men's World Cup, a competition in which the country has never participated.

A win against Costa Rica would also open the door to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games, another sporting event in which Haitian football has never participated. Such a performance would be an extraordinary moment for this talented generation, which now has the opportunity to write one of the most glorious chapters in the history of Haitian sport.

Minister Dumas reiterates his congratulations to the players and the coaching staff. He reaffirms the Ministry's commitment to continuing its efforts in developing sports and nurturing young talent. He took the opportunity to invite all Haitians and members of the Haitian community in Mexico to rally behind our Grenadiers for this crucial match against Costa Rica.
