iciHaiti - Jamaica : Charges dropped against 4 Haitian fishermen
The 4 Haitian fishermen who had been imprisoned after having landed by boat at St Margaret's Bay, in Portland (North East of Jamaica in the county of Surrey) and who had been charged with illegal entry into the territory of Jamaica, were finally released when they appeared before the Portland Parish Court.

The court decided to drop the charges and considered that the 4 men had not entered the country illegally, but that they had been rescued at sea https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-29402-icihaiti-jamaica-haitian-fishermen-charged-with-illegal-entry.html

The case was passed on to the Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA), which has received travel documents from fishermen and is helping them to return to Haiti.

In the meantime, the four Haitians reside in a parish inn until their departure.
