As part of the revival of tourism activities, Myriam Jean, Minister of Tourism signed on June 5, a memorandum of understanding with Abner Septembre the Minister of the Environment.

Since her installation at the head of the Ministry of Tourism, Ms. Jean has worked tirelessly to stimulate a new dynamic in the sector in a particularly context. This Memorandum of Understanding is intended to promote community tourism and eco-tourism.

This MoU, coincides with various other measures adopted by the Government, aims to promote concerted actions, promotion and protection of natural, historic, cultural and heritage sites in a sustainable development approach involving communities and local actors.

"This is an important step in strengthening cooperation between our two Ministries and especially in the development of tourism," said Minister Myriam Jean after this signing, confident that the initiative would be successful, in the interest of the community in general and of actors evolving in the field in particular.
