iciHaiti - Covid-19 : Conditional support from the Ministry to traditional remedies
The Ministry of Public Health is engaged in the promotion of traditional Haitian medicine. In this sense, the use of recipes and/or traditional remedies demonstrating a certain preventive and/or curative effectiveness against the COVID-19 coronavirus will benefit from its attention.

However, these traditional remedies will be subject to scientific tests before any authorization to market and market across the country. It is a long process; however diligence will be granted in this specific context.

The Ministry informs everyone that no Marketing Authorization has yet been granted to any producer of herbal medicines as part of the management of confirmed cases of COVID-19. Consequently, the public should exercise caution when using attractive products advertised in any way that advertise non-certified qualities.

Companies and/or organizations wishing to put their products on the market, without compromising patient safety, must integrate the process in force by submitting a complete technical file and 5 samples of the proposed remedy in its potential sales format for evaluation.

The Ministry of Health calls for vigilance and promises to make public the list of traditional medicines and/or herbal remedies that will have met the requirements in this area benefiting from a marketing authorization in Haiti.
