iciHaiti - Lascahobas : The official exams interrupted

On Thursday, July 3rd, 2025, heavily armed terrorists from the "Viv ansanm" gang coalition attacked a Haitian National Police (PNH) patrol and agents of the Protected Areas Security Brigade (BSAP) in the commune of Lascahobas, Centre department, while the official 9th AF exams were taking place.

The automatic gunfire caused widespread panic and the hasty flight of students, teachers, and support staff, interrupting the official exams.

A Protected Areas Agent (BSAP) was killed and a police officer was reportedly captured by the terrorists. Several residents were also reportedly killed or injured. A market, houses, and several vehicles were set on fire. The bandits stole two law enforcement vehicles.

The Ministry of National Education has not yet announced a possible rescheduling of the exams.
