The past weekend on Turtle Island, the Haitian National Police (PNH) arrested Destiné Joël, accused of having participated in the destruction of public property committed against the police station of Turtle Island followed by setting fire of the building. In addition, he is accused of criminal conspiracy and assault on another.

Let's remind that on the night of Wednesday, May 15, 2019, a group of individuals armed with machetes demanding the immediate and unconditional release of a young man arrested on the order of the Public Prosecutor's Office, attacked and set fire to the Police Station, in particular setting fire to vehicles parked in the courtyard of the police station. One person was killed during this incident.
