The Embassy of Haiti in France learned with great sorrow the the passing away of Dr. Alvarez Guillaume Hippolyte (79), Honorary Consul of Haiti in Bordeaux, occured on September 16, 2020.

Born on November 13, 1940 in Anse d´Hainault, Hippolyte practiced the profession of doctor for many years in the town of Ambes in Gironde. He took office in June 1991 as Honorary Consul of Haiti, he devoted himself for almost 30 years to the service of the Haitian community of Bordeaux and neighboring cities.

Dr. Hippolyte was also very involved in actions to raise awareness of the problems of Haiti and social activities, in particular with the Association Amitié France-Haiti of which he was the President.

The Embassy of Haiti in France salutes his deep commitment to the service of the country and sends its most sincere condolences to his family, loved ones and all his collaborators.
