At the start of the week, agents from the General Directorate of Migration (DGM) repatriated 88 illegal Haitians (55 men, 32 women and 1 child) apprehended on Saturday, September 26 by members of the specialized body for land border security (CESFRONT ), while they entered the Dominican territory illegally

General Durán Ynfante, Director of Cesfront, informed that operations will continue in the other border provinces of Elías Piña and Independencia.

Since the entering in power of the new Dominican President Luis Abinader, operations to control Haitians have increased in the border area, while more and more Dominicans plead in favor of the strict application of the migration law and deportation of all foreigners living in an irregular migratory situation in the Dominican territory.
