iciHaiti - Security : Localities of Petit-Goâve launch an SOS to Minister Nadaire
The inhabitants of several localities of Petit-Goâve : La Régale, Meilleure Eau, Grand Chemin, Pied à Terre, bottom of the 11th section of Petit Goave launch an SOS to the Minister of Public Works, Joaséus Nadaire.

They explained during Radio Preference FM's "Pale Palew" show that residents of these communities are exposed to danger when the Meilleure Eau river floods, flooding their homes and washing away their land. In addition, not having a bridge, when the river is in flood, these peripheral areas can no longer reach the city center, pointing out that the Meilleur Eau river is leaving its bed more and more often...

According to Sterlin Agronomist Joseph Frénel, this river also threatens to destroy Meilleure Eau's water catchment, which serves the citizens of the area.

The inhabitants of these localities ask Minister Nadaire to intervene now urgently before it is too late, recalling that the hurricane season is not over and asks:

  • To send a team of technicians from the Ministry on site for an observation and evaluation mission;
  • To cleanse the Meilleur Eau river and replace it in its natural passageway;
  • To protect the two banks of the river with gabions and plants;
  • To build a bridge over the river to facilitate traffic when bad weather.
