The Ministry emphasizes "The major role of women in the life of this community grouping constitutes the basis for the development of the agricultural sector. This is without counting also their domestic task and their invaluable contribution in the formation of the children who represent the future. So, through rural women, a whole future is emerging. More than ever, it is essential, beyond any upheaval whatsoever, that rural women can hope for well-being. They have an essential role, they are essential in the rural economy, and they constitute the cornerstone of the development of our communities. The Government therefore salutes their courage, determination and resilience." This year the Ministry for the Status of Women chooses instead the date of October 20 because of the particular context, to mark this day. Thus, activities will take place in the North West department, more precisely, in Chansolme. IH/ iciHaiti
