On Monday night, unidentified armed individuals broke into the private residence of Pastor Jean-François Louis in the commune of Montrouis (on the Côte des Arcadins).

After grabbing the money in the house, they coldly shot the Pastor with 4 bullets and his wife Exinor Luciane, who was 7 months pregnant, with 2 bullets before running away with their loot.

The Pastor died instantly, but his wife, seriously injured but still alive, was rushed to hospital. Doctors managed to save the baby but the mother died of her injuries Tuesday morning, confirmed Blaise Élizée, the Mayor of Montrouis, who denounced the increase in insecurity in his commune and the weak police presence.
