iciHaiti - FAO : Training for the benefit of 4,000 vulnerable heads of families
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and its partners organize training on raising laying hens and selling eggs, for the benefit of vulnerable heads of households [over 60% of women], from the neighborhoods of Canaan, Bas Delmas and Tabba Issa (West Dept.).

This training aims to strengthen the knowledge of the participants on the practice of raising laying hens, the conservation and marketing of eggs in order to improve the incomes and food security of the beneficiaries.

This activity is part of the "Restoration of the livelihoods of 4,000 vulnerable households affected by the socio-economic crisis and insecurity" project, funded by the Central Humanitarian Emergency Response Fund (CERF).

The project provides technical assistance and provides agricultural inputs/hens, to 2,000 households for urban market gardening, 1,000 households for raising laying hens and selling eggs and 1,000 households for cash-for-work activities in order to to clean up their neighborhoods.

This project is part of a joint intervention by FAO, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and UNICEF with the objective of improving the living conditions of vulnerable families from these neighborhoods often affected by insecurity.
