iciHaiti - Jacmel : The Municipal Council visits the Divisional Commissioner of the Southeast Police

Divisional Commissioner Appolos Villette, Departmental Director of Police for the Southeast, accompanied by his deputy, Chief Commissioner Mathias Jean David, the Head of the Jacmel Police Station, Municipal Commissioner Monette Jean-Julien, and the Head of the Departmental Administrative Police Service (SDPA), Municipal Commissioner Allan Berrouet, received a courtesy visit this week from the new Jacmel Municipal Council.

This delegation included Marceau Joseph, Mayor of Jacmel, along with his two deputies, Stéphanie Édouard Lafontant and Julie Leclerc, the Departmental Delegate for the Southeast, Jude Pierre Michel Lafontant, and the Director of the General Directorate of Taxes (DGI), Carlo Joseph.

During this meeting, the authorities discussed several issues concerning security management in the city of Jacmel, such as : strengthening the presence of the Haitian National Police (PNH) on the city's main thoroughfares, establishing permanent police stations at Carrefour Barranquilla and Créac, the issue of city cleanliness, and the role of the Mayor's office in supporting efforts to improve public safety.

The members of the new City Council also took the opportunity to visit the offices of the Departmental Unit for Maintaining Order (UDMO) and the Departmental Service of the Judicial Police (SDPJ), where they learned about the operations and mission of these units within the framework of the PNH's mandate.
