iciHaiti - Dominican Republic : More than 70,000 Haitians returned to the country in one month

According to a report from the Repatriates and Refugees Support Group (GARR), during the month of May 2021, a total of 71,643 Haitians living in the Dominican Republic returned to Haiti through several border points including Belladère, Malpasse, Ouanaminthe and Anse-à-Pitres.
The number of returnees (expulsions) stands at 1,811 (1,700 men, 96 women, 15 minors) while the number of spontaneous (so-called voluntary) returns stands at 69,832 (29,148 men, 37,209 women, 3,475 minors).
The GARR claims to have observed from January to May 2021, 234,599 Haitian returns to the country (spontaneous or repatriated).
