iciHaiti - Culture : Ms. Marcia Châtelain Laureate of the 2021 Pulitzer Prize in History
Jean Emmanuel Jacquet, the new Minister of Culture, congratulates Ms. Marcia Châtelain, winner of the 2021 Pulitzer Prize in History for her book "Franchise : The Golden Arches in Black America".

With this Prize, Dr. Châtelain has just entered the pantheon of eminent writers from the land of Haiti who have imposed their creative power on the world, in particular : Louis Philippe Dalembert, Émelie Prophète Milcé, the Baobab Franck Etienne and of our immortal Dany Laferrière.

Minister Jacquet wishes to express his utmost respect to the Pulitzer Prize Laureate, Dr. Marcia Châtelain, who made many sacrifices in order to produce a work capable of attracting the attention of the members of the jury.

Note that Chatelain has a Masters and Doctorate in American Civilization from Brown University and teaches African American history at Georgetown University.
