As part of the implementation of the security plan drawn up to guarantee the security and protection of lives and property during and after the end of year celebrations, a significant deployment of several territorial and specialized units of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) was carried out in various areas of the metropolitan region.

These units were deployed under the supervision of senior officials of the police institution including Inspector General Joany Caneus the Central Director of Administrative Police and Divisional Commissioner Frenel Saintil, responsible for the Departmental Directorate of the West (DDO).

At the level of the Champs de Mars perimeter, a strong presence of agents on duty was visible, stationed in strategic places and points while carrying out routine checks on vehicles. This device is especially present in the most eventful and festive areas in the evening.

The PNH reiterated its determination to fight against crime and organized crime by disabling armed bandits.
