iciHaiti - Ounaminthe : The Center for Germplasm and Plant Propagation welcomes academics 25/02/2022 08:07:53
During this visit, the students took the opportunity to carry out a day of practical capacity building training as part of the agro-forestry course. Practical experiences took place through 10 hectares of agroforestry systems containing species native and endemic to Haiti, among others : Mapou, Ceiba pentandra, Cashew country Swietenia mahogany, Campeche haematoxylum campechianum, pine Pinus occidental et caribaea, oak Catalpa tongissima, cedar Cedrela odorata and Guaiac Gaiacum officinale. This constructive synergy is in line with the orientations of the Ministry of the Environment which aim, among other things, to approach scientific studies that can facilitate sustainable interventions to redress the environmental degradation of the country.
