iciHaiti - Humanitarian : More than 30 years in the country, end of the 4th mission of Bruno Lemarquis

Ricard Pierre the Minister of Planning and External Cooperation, organized this week a dinner in honor of Bruno Lemarquis, Resident Coordinator of the United Nations in Haiti shortly before completing after more than 30 years in Haiti his 4th mission to the country where he started working at the age of 23.
In his remarks for the occasion, Minister Pierre took the opportunity to salute the professional and strategic support of the United Nations Coordination for the realization and full success of the high-level international event aimed at mobilizing resources for the financing of the recovery of the Southern Peninsula.
For his part, Bruno Lemarquis wanted the Haitian State to continue to play its leadership role in making decisions about its destiny. On the other hand, he praised the dynamism of the entire team at the Ministry of Planning with whom he worked a great deal, insisting on the need for national and international actors to tackle more structural causes than symptoms.
