As part of the celebration of International Women's Day (March 8), Bredy Charlot, the Minister of Agriculture declared "[...] I would like to pay tribute to the generations of women who have contributed, at one level or another, to the advancement of the agricultural sector and the feeding of the population and this, often by facing immense challenges and at the cost of great personal sacrifices. In an exhaustive way, I take as an example the saleswomen of Days, the Madan Sara, the farmers, the professional women of the sector, all categories combined.

I recognize the courage and determination of women around the world who have launched powerful social movements and so many others who have persevered and dared to speak out about the violence against them.

On this day, while encouraging your women to train and improve their skills, I undertake to advocate within the Ministry equal opportunities for the promotion to positions of responsibility and I am convinced that women have the strength and the power to change things.
