German Rosario Pérez, General of the 4th Army Brigade said that from September 1st, 2021 to March 3rd, 2022 (6 months) while he was in office during this period, 32,147 Haitians in an irregular migratory situation were intercepted by members of the Dominican army as they were crossing the northern border (Dajabón) clandestinely.

General Pérez added that the soldiers of the 4th Brigade were also confronted with Dominican traffickers and transporters and "poncho motorcycles", who engage in illegal transport of Haitians to various points in the North-West, then heading towards Santiago, Greater Santo Domingo and tourist areas. More than 350 motorcycles carrying illegal Haitians were seized as well as about twenty vehicles during this period.
