Thursday, March 10 in the afternoon, a Haitian truck blocked the passage of other vehicles that wanted to enter Dominican territory to trade at the Haitian-Dominican border at Comendador (Province Elías Piña).

According to information obtained so far, the closure of the crossing point occurred because a soldier refused a Haitian driver to cross. In response, the Haitian driver abandoned his truck in the middle of the road, forcing a Dominican soldier to move the truck which was blocking all traffic.

It was while moving the truck that for some unknown reason the transmission of the truck suddenly broke...

Liriano Morillo the President of the Association of Traders and Virgilio Octavio Moreta President of the National Federation of Dominican Transports met with angry Haitians who threaten to block the border to find a solution to the emerging conflict. The Haitians claim 6,000 US dollars to repair the truck.
